Review of our 40th anniversary MedTech Dialogue Today our 40th MedTech Dialogue with the theme ‘Innovations for Care – More Time for the Essential’ took place at CUBEX 41 & CUBEX ONE. A big thank you goes to Thorsten Riehle, who in his greeting emphasized the importance of care for everyone, whether sooner or later. Many thanks also to all speakers Anna Windisch, Marcus Steffen Bauer, Michael Ey and Cem Demir for the exciting and valuable lectures and entries! We would also like to thank all exhibitors within the framework of the networking! Some impulses from the speakers: Constant growth (4%) in the need for care, especially due to the increasing aging of society. Currently over 4 million people in need of care with over 1.2 million care beds in Germany! Care professions are the backbone of our health system, as they ensure the quality of life and well-being of millions of people. The challenge is and remains administration, as approx. 80% of digitization ends up in administration, without providing a real value-added effect for care. Digitization must contribute to an actual relief of care (ideal image of care with digitization)! In Germany there are 0 digital care applications, why? Care is open to novel innovations, for example, the Central Institute of Mental Health in Mannheim already uses some digital innovations. Innovations, such as telemedicine, AI and robotics can relieve caregivers and improve the quality of life of patients. Innovative technologies, such as the sensor for fall prevention from QUMEA are promising and important. One thing is certain: care is and will be one of the most important aspects of the health system in the future, therefore it is all the more important to link care and innovations effectively and purpose-oriented! focuses on innovation in corporate health management, which is becoming increasingly important as a preventative measure.
How do companies and employees benefit from innovations in corporate health management?
To discuss this question, 5-ht brought together 8 startups and representatives from established companies today. Solutions were presented for the early detection of sleep apnea, heart problems as well as animation for healthy nutrition, more exercise, and other exciting solutions such as accident prevention.health management in the company?

Last Saturday, our iQMedix Oncology Congress took place with participants from all over Germany, Switzerland, and Austria.
With great contributions from experienced medical professionals, researchers, and our iQMedix managing directors, we spent the day at Cubex One in Mannheim.

and Dr. Reinhard Becker informed the audience about the topic: “Why Tumor Expression Diagnostics?” and Dr. Bert Steffan spoke about the “Possibilities and Limits of Liquid Biopsy”.
With exciting lectures by Dr. Wessolly on the “Complementary Oncology – Methods and Successes”, Dr.
Wulf-Peter Brockmann
on “Long-lasting success with combined off-label therapies” and
Dr. med. Bozena Kilarski Specialist in Anesthesiology and Naturopathy
on her “Successes of the complementary addition of oncological guideline therapy”, the participants could learn a lot about the used methods and their results.”Successes”, Mr. Wulf-Peter Dr. Brockmann on “Long-lasting successes with combined off-label therapies” and Mrs. Dr.med. Care is open to novel innovations, the Central Institute for Mental Health in Mannheim, for example, is already using some digital innovations.

Innovative technologies, such as the sensor for fall prevention from QUMEA are promising and important.
One thing is certain: care is and will be one of the most important aspects of the healthcare system in the future, so it is all the more important to effectively and usefully link care and innovations!

👀 Yesterday, the first public event of the
Green Industry Cluster
took place. Under the motto “Shaping Transformation Together,” guests were able to approach the topic from different perspectives.

To relieve the physical and psychological burden of caregivers and to sustainably and long-term improve the quality of work in nursing professions, novel technologies and innovations are needed. Particularly in medical technology, innovations in nursing have made significant advances. Modern technologies and innovative approaches can contribute to making the daily routine of caregivers more efficient and create more space for what truly matters: Individual care and attention for our fellow human beings. Integrating new technologies into the daily life of caregivers is based on trust. This can ensure the best possible care for the patient.

As if by magic, driverless transport vehicles roll through the huge assembly hall. Inductive loop guides on the floor show them the way. They transport the emerging engine, the
#HDEP
— a six-cylinder diesel unit that meets the current emission standard, from station to station. Consisting of a total of 2,500 individual parts, these engines, which are installed in the Actros, a model of Mercedes-Benz trucks, are assembled in the Mercedes-Benz plant in Mannheim.

In focus: Healthcare and SaaS! 💡🏥
The healthcare sector is facing constantly growing challenges – from patient care to administration. Everywhere there is a shortage of skilled workers, too much bureaucracy, and too little money in the register.
But how can we master these challenges and at the same time improve the quality of care?
Digitization is one way. And in my opinion: Software-as-a-Service. Software-as-a-Service differs from the software we know from old times: it does not need to be installed on the server of a hospital, a rehab clinic, or a practice before use. It is simply available via the internet browser with access data.
This has enormous advantages: the facility does not need any hardware, you always have the latest version of the software, the IT deptdiffers from the software that we know from old times: it does not need to be installed on the server of a hospital, a rehab clinic or a practice before use. But which specific applications can benefit the most from this? 🤔 A lot will happen in the next few years. Ponytails will be cut off, even when it comes to patient data.

I was in Uzbekistan!
… at least already at the embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Berlin.
I represented KTQ here. KTQ successfully uses the
kubicum GmbH
software in their hospital certifications in Georgia and China.
Our eyes are now set on Uzbekistan. A great country with a young population and a dynamically developing healthcare system.

Today I would like to say a big thank you to our kubicum development team. They found a disruptive character that is completely invisible in the text editor.
Have you ever heard of ZWNBSP, the ‘non-breaking space’ in UTF-8 BOM files?
No? Neither have I.
The problem is solved, the data is flowing again.
The data flow back to our customers is just as important to us as the data flow to us. The data belongs to our customers and therefore into their data warehouse. I think that kubicum with this philosophy differentiates itself from many other software-as-a-service providers.
Now that the
quali.de
data is flowing again, we are next taking care of the data flow from the actions tool into TIP HCe. Hundreds of actions will be displayed specifically to the leaders with status and responsibilities… it’s going to be great. Transparency and control without much clicking around. ✅

For our risk management tool, today is a big day. Just before 9 o’clock, it moved out from
meine-meldung.de
and now has its own homepage!
The presentation and workflow are based on ONR 49000 and ISO 31000. The tool offers many uses. For example, our customers can
✅ Enable anonymous risk reports
✅ Offer the managers of their organization an online reporting system
✅ Invite their managers to online risk assessments via email with a link
✅ Store measures with automated email dispatch upon maturity and much more.
Our customers decide how their risk matrix looks (3×3, 5×5, 4×3, etc.), which colors they use, and how the matrix is scaled concerning damage extent and probability of occurrence. You can design the risk matrix on several levels, such as general/performance, health, reputation and values, finance.
In the next few weeks, there will be extensive revisions of the tool for use in a corporation, which will integrate the previously 16 separate users (hospitals, nursing homes, etc.).is scaled according to the amount of damage and the probability of occurrence. You can design the risk matrix on several levels, for example, General / Performance, Health, Reputation and Values, Finances.
In the next few weeks, the tool will be extensively revised for use in a corporation, which wants to combine the previous 16 separate users (hospitals, nursing homes, etc.) into a single overall matrix representation.
An exciting challenge.
In our collaboration with our customer, we benefit, as in previous years, from the experience, expertise, and patience of our contacts. And from my own experience with the topic: among other things, I was a speaker on this topic at the German Pension Insurance Association and the Social and Occupational Medicine Academy Baden-Württemberg e.V. (@SAMA).

The lecture just ended – as expected, very exciting and informative. Here are my thoughts (a mix of my knowledge and today’s information):
➡️ It is apparently planned to revise the topic ‘minimum requirements for the quality of hospital treatment.’ The BMG wants to set up a committee, led by the federal and state governments, to further develop the content of the ordinances. Solicitation of suggestions from AWMF. Support: INEK and BfArM. Advice from DKG, BÄK, and nursing representatives. Until then, the NRW quality criteria apply. … where is the G-BA in this setting?
➡️ There was an interesting slide today on the NRW quality criteria “How can a formulation of staffing requirements corresponding to medical scientific knowledge be ensured? For example, the requirement “wound management.” Nursing? Medical? This is broadly summarized… very broad.
➡️ I asked in the forum today whether one could actually look at the ‘Spital List Zurich’ to understand what is meant. In the Spital List, the Canton of Zurich has meticulously listed the requirements for hospitals that want to receive a service mandate. There was a smile about this. This has been looked at, but it was too detailed. One has slimmed it down. Thus, my Spital List experience that I gathered in Switzerland is worthwhile to understand what is and will be happening in Germany.
➡️ According to Ms. Haeske-Seeberg’s assessment (I share), the outpatientization will dynamically continue. More departments will be outpatientized. The opinion was: If one wants to assess quality here, then PREMs and PROMs should be collected in the same way. And create transparency. I wonder who will define the PREMs and PROMs and whether the federal government will commission certain institutes for this. Analogous to other situations.
➡️ Digitalization is, in my opinion, continuing dynamically.h continue. Further subjects will be outpatientized. The opinion was: if you want to evaluate the quality here, then PREMs and PROMs should be collected in the same way. And create transparency. I wonder who will define the PREMs and PROMs and whether the federal government will commission certain institutes for this. Analogous to other situations.
➡️ In my estimation, digitization is the only ‘problem area’ in which hospitals themselves have the ability to act. The areas named by Ms. Haeseke-Seeberg are: still) unclear requirements of the hospital reform, inflation, delivery bottlenecks, decrease in case numbers, lack of digitization, insufficient investment cost funding, excessive bureaucracy, tariff contract conditions, shortage of skilled workers, outpatientization.
➡️ ‘There will be no personnel follow-up’ – that reminds me of my previous post, ‘what I have learned’. Qualification management is of great importance.
➡️ When I see Ms. Haeske-Seeberg’s statements in context, she is a bit less optimistic than our federal minister that the KHVVG will still be implemented. It is about ‘reasonable’ redistribution – and that is very difficult. It remains exciting.

“We have always done it this way!!!!” ….. Well, with this attitude we would still be living in caves and NEVER have flown to the moon. For this very reason, we chose the motto “Fly me to the Moon” for our #smartXcare, which this year is all about #Interoperability.
Wouldn’t it be a desirable situation in a #hospital if all actors and participants in the treatment and care process, i.e. physicians, therapists, and nursing staff, had access to all important and necessary health data?
And that digitally, electronically available in real-time, directly at the patient’s bedside – at the PoC Point of Care, regardless of which data silo the data is currently in? Whether in the laboratory system LIS, in the patient data management system PDMS, in the picture archive PACS, in the radiology information system RIS, in the medication system, in the hospital information system KIS…..necessary health data?
And that digitally, electronically available in real-time, directly at the patient’s bedside – at the PoC Point of Care, regardless of which data silo the data is currently in? Whether in the laboratory system LIS, in the patient data management system PDMS, in the image archive PACS, in the radiology information system RIS, in the medication system, in the hospital information system HIS ….. or wherever?
For that, we don’t have to fly to the moon, but it requires openness, spirit, out-of-the-box thinking, energy, and the drive that resides in all those people who accomplish great or unique things.
And we as players in the

can also create big steps with small steps. Our small steps can start by critically questioning the current processes and situations: “Can’t I do it better, can’t I redesign the process, can’t I integrate complementary technology to digitize, simplify, optimize and possibly even automate the workflows in the clinical everyday life at the station where it makes sense?”

📝 Recap: 40th MEDTECH-DIALOG in Mannheim
On Wednesday we were guests at the 40th MEDTECH-DIALOG, an event by the Cluster Medical Technology and PwC Germany in Mannheim.
After a welcome round by PwC, the Cluster Medical Technology, and the present Mannheim mayor Thorsten Riehle (Economics, Labor, Social Affairs and Culture) followed three exciting lectures:
➡️ Digitization in psychiatric nursing
➡️ Innovative digital solutions – paths into nursing practice
➡️ AI-based early warning system in the patient room
Afterwards CLINARIS Sales Manager Carina Hinz was able to present to the participants HPM®, our digital hygiene, process management, and real-time localization solution for hospitals and nursing homes in live operation📱. HPM® is also part of the PwC initiative “The digital hospital”.

🔁 Better assurance of hygiene compliance in hospitals 🏢 – HPM® by

is mentioned in the PwC article in the renowned trade journal “Klinik Einkauf” as a possible solution for reducing liability.
The increasing number of hospital germs is a topic that is currently very present in the media. An infection can have severe consequences for patients: From slowed healing processes to more serious consequences such as further surgeries, amputations, permanent disabilities or in the worst case even deaths.
❗ Process managers in healthcare facilities must ensure that the applicable hygiene regulations are adhered to in order to break infection chains early and thereby prevent unnecessary suffering of patients. Additionally, it is legally required to document the individual activities to comply with these regulations in order to be able to make reliable and valid statements afterwards about which step was carried out when and how. Because in the case of a lawsuit by a patient harmed by an infection, there is a risk for the affected healthcare facility that it must prove that prescribed hygiene standards were complied with. ❗
Digital systems that document preparation and cleaning processes in individual steps can help to fulfill these documentation requirements.

📣 This is a CALL FOR ABSTRACTS for the webinar “Physical activity in older age across Europe”, organized on the 📅 May 8 (⌚ 6-7.30pm CET) by the PROGRAMMING COST Action 21122, in collaboration with DE-PASS COST Action 19101 and PhysAgeNet COST Action 20104.
Each of the 3 Actions (DE-PASS, PhysAgeNet, and PROGRAMMING) will be presenting a related lecture and will contribute a chair to the webinar. There will also be a 4th lecture to be determined through this open call for abstract procedure.

It aligns with gamification principles, injecting enjoyment and excitement into rehabilitation. In contrast to punitive approaches, it emphasizes intrinsic satisfaction, fostering an empowering environment. The psychological impact of rewards extends beyond external motivation, influencing behavior, and mindset.
The attraction of rewards ignites prolonged involvement and a sense of purpose, fostering a mindset of growth. The reward-incentive mechanism not only influences motivation but also extends its impact to the realms of learning and skill acquisition. Connecting rewards with milestones enhances motivation and provides emotional satisfaction, sculpting a vibrant and influential rehabilitation experience.
Implementing the reward-incentive mechanism requires a user-centered design, consideriof growth. What do the exhibitors from our network say about the
MEDICA – Leading International Trade Fair
this year?
We were on site today and the feedback was positive: international, interested, busy, and all kinds of contacts were represented from distributors to clinicians.
On site from Cubex were among others

The “Do Tank Network for Wearable Technologies” runs a Pop-up Living Lab on the subject of wearable technologies from June 12 to September 21, organized by the Office for Economic Development and Science (contact person:
Claudia Sandoval-López, PhD
). Wearables are small portable computer systems. In the Living Lab, experts, scientists, as well as interested parties from politics and economyFrom June 12 to September 21, a pop-up Living Lab organized by the Office for Economic Development and Science (contact person: Claudia Sandoval-López, PhD) on the topic of Wearable Technologies. Wearables are small portable computer systems. In the Living Lab, experts, scientists, as well as those interested from politics, business, and urban society, will have many opportunities to come into contact with the possibilities of these technologies.
📅 The Living Lab can be found from June 12 to September 21 at Kurfürsten-Anlage 3. Interested parties can simply drop by during opening hours: Wednesdays to Fridays from 10 am to 12 pm and from 2 pm to 6 pm.
In the first week from June 12 to 14, the following is on the program:
🚌 Digital Health Truck of the Coordination Office Telemedicine Baden-Württemberg (KTBW): Wednesday, June 12, and Thursday, June 13, from 10 am to 4 pm.
📣 Parkinson Days: Wednesday, June 12, and Thursday, June 13 from 10 am to 12 pm and from 2 pm to 6 pm, presentations at 11 am and 5 pm by Dr. Andreas Becker, project manager of ParkinsonNetz Rhein-Neckar +, chief physician of neurology at SRH Kurpfalzkrankenhaus Heidelberg, as well as Martijn van der Ent, co-founder and medical director of Cue2walk International.
🔬 AI Health Seminar Series “Feedforward – or: how AI enriches the future of medicine”: Wednesdays, variable times – each week a new topic from the field of artificial intelligence that will revolutionize the world of medicine. The first lecture on Wednesday, June 12, at 4 pm, comes from Alexandra Albu, AIH (AI Health Innovation Cluster) Staff Scientist, on the topic of “Predicting Sepsis.” Daniela Beyer, Scientific Program Manager, will introduce the concept of the seminar series. The AI Health Innovation Cluster connects leading data science and AI with relevant challenges in the healthcare sector, embedded in the Health + Life Science Alliance.
