Recently, the drafting work of the mandatory national standard “Technical Requirements and Test Methods for Light Vehicle Automatic Emergency Braking Systems” has been completed and is currently in the stage of public consultation. In the future, it will replace the current GB/T 39901-2021 standard. Compared to the current standard, the new standard shifts from being recommended to mandatory, further expanding its scope and clearly requiring “M1 and N1 vehicles to be equipped with automatic emergency braking systems.” Among them, M1 class mainly includes cars, SUVs, MPVs, and other passenger vehicles, while N1 class mainly refers to light-duty cargo vehicles.
