LinkedIn Post Text: Can you screen parcels for concealed objects without slowing down logistics operations? That’s the challenge we tackled in our latest concealed object detection project.Traditional X-ray systems are effective but too slow and expensive for comprehensive parcel screening at sorting hubs. Our approach uses 60-64 GHz mmWave imaging arrays to see through cardboard and identify objects (scissors, scalpels, weapons) based purely on shape. We’ve paired this with ultrawide band sensing to estimate material composition across a wide field of view.The result is a dual-mode system that analyses both spatial patterns and material properties. Testing with plasticine, metal and plastic showed clear discrimination between materials, with neural networks successfully trained to identify each. Read more here: https://lnkd.in/eEa6SWuz
