Last Saturday, the Tages-Anzeiger addressed a debate that has been accompanying the healthcare sector for years: How can patient safety, support for caregiving, and privacy protection be reconciled? Often, this question is framed as a conflict of objectives. As if one has to choose – either for more safety or for more data protection. For technical solutions that aim to offer support, this is a crucial issue. This contrast is not inevitable – patient safety is possible without violating privacy!
Today, there are solutions available that do not rely on camera surveillance but instead take new, data-efficient approaches. The key lies not solely in the processing of data but in the fundamental question of which data actually need to be collected at all. QUMEA is based on radar technology.
