Data protection and patient safety: No compromises are needed
Last Saturday, the Tages-Anzeiger addressed a debate that has been accompanying the healthcare sector for years: How can patient safety, support for caregiving, and privacy protection be reconciled? Often, this question is framed as a conflict of objectives. As if one has to choose – either for more safety or for more data protection. For technical solutions that aim to offer support, this is a crucial issue. This contrast is not inevitable – patient safety is possible without violating privacy!
Today, there are solutions available that do not rely on camera surveillance but instead take new, data-efficient approaches.
