LinkedIn Post Text: In this paper, co-authored by imec researchers and recently published in Materials, we explore how cationic stoichiometry of SrTiO3 affects the thin film grown on large scale (001)-oriented Si substrates. Our findings reveal that while non-stoichiometric layers initially seem to have better crystalline quality, high-temperature annealing significantly degrades their structure. Conversely, stoichiometric layers drastically improve in physical, optical, and electrical properties after annealing. This research is a first step for developing more reliable and efficient pathways for integration of perovskite materials for optical and quantum applications. Read more: https://lnkd.in/d93wwzfu
